Robinson Helicopter Company added a free online tutorial about Special Federal Aviation Regulation 73 (SFAR 73) to its website. The purpose of the tutorial is to help R22 and R44 pilots gain a better understanding of the training required and when it is required in order to comply with SFAR 73.
The tutorial includes an introductory video with Robinson’s Chief Safety Course Instructor Tim Tucker explaining the regulation, and training videos of Frank Robinson discussing energy management, low rotor RPM and rotor stall, and low G mast bumping. Summary slides of the requirements, applicable Safety Notices, a quiz and printable SFAR
endorsements for use by instructors are also included.
